The new Kit Builder lets you go beyond stock sounds and build your own kits using anything from classic drums to vocal chops, bass hits, or textures. Dr. Fill automatically detects sample type and even handles key detection for tonal material, so everything stays organised and in tune with your track. It also now supports a wider range of sounds including kicks, bongos, congas, and additional percussion, giving you more flexibility when shaping fills.
You can now export MIDI or trigger Dr. Fill directly with MIDI input, making it easier to integrate into your workflow however you like. It interacts pretty well with other plugins through midi input/output, allowing for a fast workflow in my experiments with euclidean rhythms. Making a drum kit is trivially easy too. Will prominently feature in my next EP as I experiment with retro one-hit samples. At some point I would like to do a deeper dive on the plugin and its possibilities. I’ve already taken some notes on what it can and cannot do for my purposes. 10/10, fun and functional. Intrigued by the Basic Wavez plugins.
