Founder, Lead Sound Designer, Product Manager
Julian or “Jules” is a South African born, UK based producer. He founded Basic Wavez originally as an apparel company in 2018. All the while focussing on music and sound design. In 2020 his musical project (Bound to Divide) started to gain traction along with his YouTube channel. Basic Wavez started releasing Sample packs and Sound Banks and the response was astounding. Jules’ main focus since has been to constantly develop and improve all aspects of music creation and education – he is now in charge of the planning and creation of all products at Basic Wavez, as well as guiding and working with various other sound designers and musicians.

Joppe joined the team in 2023, after his passion for music production eventually drew him away from his previous IT company which he founded, built, and sold over over the span of 14 years. Originally connecting with Jules as a student, they realised that a shared passion for music, combined with with his extensive experience and knowledge in business development, would make for the perfect partnership. And thus – Joppe officially joined the team.
Frits and Joppe grew up together in the Netherlands, originally becoming friends whilst playing baseball on the same team. Later Frits joined Joppe to help build their previous IT company and ultimately decided to join the Basic Wavez team along with Joppe in 2024. Frits also has a passion for electronic music and happens to be a talented drummer. He is in charge of the day to day operations at Basic Wavez which includes finding talent, interviewing prospects, artist relations, and general administration.
